The Teacher's Key: Finding the Answers for Learning

Reading Comprehension does not come easy for some students. Dare I say it is because we wait too late to teach reading comprehension. Steps for teaching reading comprehension can begin long before a student learns to read.

Ephesians 3:4 “Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ.” The purpose of reading is that we understand first and foremost God’s Word for salvation. But overall, the purpose for reading is to comprehend what has been written.

Adding a theme to teach curriculum can be so much fun. This week I share how I added Flat Stanley to Phonics while learning blends. Fun!!!

Using the voiced and unvoiced letter sounds makes so much sense when you are reading or adding suffix -ed to a word.

Knowing when suffix -s says /s/ or/z/ and when to properly use the spelling es can be simplified when you know your voiced and unvoiced letter sounds. 

Learning which letter sounds are voiced and which are unvoiced and have a puff of air, can help students with spelling and reading skills. 

Our students are precious! We should set high goals and be like Paul and press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus when it comes to their education. 

A learning center can be curriculum based or Thematic. Themes are so fun and will draw a student's interest. sometimes they even forget they are learning!

A learning center is governed by rules that students are well aware of and requires students to be responsible and accountable for their own learning and behavior. This is key to a learning Center success.

A learning center has a variety of ways for students to be grouped. Be creative in how you group students together.
